La Verne is survived by her 5 children, Nancy (Ben) Hubbard of St.Marie, Ronnie Davis of Glasgow, David (Mari) Davis of Crown Point, IN, Carolyn Svingen of Glasgow and Lynette Svingen of South Pasadena, CA; her 11 grandchildren, Justin Davis, Jessica Svingen, Kara (Chris) Knodel, Kent (Sheena) Hubbard, Jeremiah (Caleigh) Davis, Hollie (Axel) Modic, Matthew (Kourtney) Davis, Marcus (Katrina) Svingen, Berkley Svingen, Austin (Shyla) Svingen and Michael Uphues; 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Melvin Lacock of Simpsonville, SC; 7 sisters, Evelyn Beil of Hinsdale, Leora Needham of Sandpoint, ID, Zella Farrell of Fort Peck, Elaine Dyer of Crestview, FL, Connie Young of Moxee, WA, Geneva Anderson of Siletz, OR and Lois Rutherford of Hinsdale.Together David and Agnes enjoyed dancing, jam sessions, and playing cards, going on trips, and their children and grandchildren.David was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lawrence, sisters Nellie and Bernice, and a son Gary. Condolences for the family may be left at was born November 8, 1921 to Ernest and Maud (Hess) Erickson in Saco, Montana. On November 10, 1945 after 3 years, 3months, and 23 days, and on his mother’s birthday, he received his discharge from the army. After the Army, David worked for his dad and while visiting one of the neighbors, he met Agnes Kegel. They raised five children; Gary, Mike, Connie, Lyle, and Diane on the home place 21 miles north of Saco. He was an ambulance driver for the 542nd Amphibian Regiment serving in New Guinea and the Philippines.La Verne was an avid “Ice Dawg” fan, cheering her grandkids on.
La Verne Arlene (Lacock) Davis, age 82 of Glasgow, MT passed away July 9, 2018 at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow after waging a fierce 2-year battle against colon cancer.She was born to Thomas and Alpha Lacock on March 9, 1936, in Hinsdale, MT and lived there until the family moved to Sandpoint, ID in 1949.Laverne graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1954. From this union, 5 children were born- 3 daughters and 2 sons.He was born in Malta on June 3, 1935, to Scottish immigrants Alexander and Agnes (Hunter) Murdock.Jim was raised on the family homestead north of Whitewater with his three elder sisters, Margie, Evelyn, and Kathleen (Ree), and little brother, Bill.Her influence and impact on the people she touched is far reaching.She probably never realized how beloved she was too many of her students.SACO- David Wesley Erickson, age 96, passed away July 17, 2018 at the Hi-Line Retirement Center in Malta, Montana. While growing up he helped neighbors with haying, threshing, lambing, and various other jobs. He got to come home for two weeks before he was sent to Ft. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, word puzzles, and everything associated with farming and ranching. at Saco Lutheran Church with a luncheon to immediately follow. David grew up North of Saco attending several schools in the area. David was president of the Phillips County Stockgrowers, a member of the Saco Lutheran Church, moose and Elks organizations, and served on numerous boards throughout the years.She attended Indiana University for 2 ½ years and 2 summers at Liberty College in Lynchburg, VA.While receiving her education, she worked at a local community hospital.
